Our Ministries

How do we connect with God and our Neighbor?

We offer many ways to build relationships, live out our faith in practical ways, and serve others.
Read on to see where you can use your gifts in and outside the walls of this spiritual home.

Music is an important part of our life together!

From the vocal and bell choirs to instrumentalists and the bell tower Doane chimers, there are many opportunities for us to contribute in worship!

Sunday School: From September to June, we offer many inter-generational opportunities for our children; from ushering and serving communion, to participating in music leadership; from doing a ‘scavenger hunt’ worksheet during worship, to helping assemble our Mid-winter meal; from setting up coffee hour, to helping with clean up. Our children experience how to be involved in their faith home, and worship in community.

Nursery: A nursery space is available for all parents if their child becomes uncomfortable during the service.

Youth Group: High schoolers are invited to attend our combined youth group with the Westbrook and Old Saybrook Congregational Churches. We meet 2 Sundays a month, 5-6:30pm.

Book Club

For over 30 years, our book club has been meeting, come rain, shine and even COVID. Each month, you are invited to meet for discussion and connection with fellow readers on a chosen book. The book club meets in the Cove View room on the second Monday of the month at 1:30 pm. For more information, please contact the church office.

Prayer Shawls

Since 2003, knitters have been offering comfort to those in our congregation and community by knitting prayer shawls and prayer squares.

Whether it’s a full-size shawl to wrap you in a ‘God hug’, or it’s a pocket prayer cloth to place in your pocket, your purse, or under your pillow, these soft and warm creations remind us that our church home is holding us in prayer and offering God’s comfort.
