We offer many ways to build relationships, live out our faith in practical ways, and serve others.
Read on to see where you can use your gifts in and outside the walls of this spiritual home.
Music is an important part of our life together!
From the vocal and bell choirs to instrumentalists and the bell tower Doane chimers, there are many opportunities for us to contribute in worship!
Sunday School: From September to June, we offer classroom and inter-generational opportunities for our children through 6th grade; from ushering and serving communion, to participating in music leadership; from doing a ‘scavenger hunt’ worksheet during worship, to helping assemble our Mid-winter meal; from setting up coffee hour, to having monthly classroom time. Our children experience how to be involved in their faith home, and worship in community.
Youth Group: Our inter-church youth group serves high schoolers attending the congregational churches in the greater Valley Shore area. Currently we are made up of kids from Essex, Westbrook, and Old Saybrook. Our kids meet two Sundays a month 5:00-6:30pm.
Nursery: A nursery space is available for all parents if their child becomes uncomfortable during the service.
Our children and youth are led by Becky Stambaugh, who also serves as the Christian Education director with the Westbrook Congregational Church. Please click the link below to contact Becky for more information about children and youth programming.
For over 30 years, our book club has been meeting, come rain, shine and even COVID. Each month, you are invited to meet for discussion and connection with fellow readers on a chosen book. The book club meets in the Cove View room on the second Monday of the month at 1:30 pm. For more information, please contact the church office.

Since 2003, knitters have been offering comfort to those in our congregation and community by knitting prayer shawls and prayer squares.
Whether it’s a full-size shawl to wrap you in a ‘God hug’, or it’s a pocket prayer cloth to place in your pocket, your purse, or under your pillow, these soft and warm creations remind us that our church home is holding us in prayer and offering God’s comfort.
