| I. The meeting was called to order by Co- Chairman Rick Mc Grath at 7:00 PM in the Cove View Room of the church. Those present included Co- Chairman Rick McGrath, Rev. Mitzi Eilts, Rev. Ken Peterkin, Robin Pool, Celia Frances, Susan Christopher, Sybil Johnson, Wini Olson. Sally DAquilla notified us that her mother has fallen and broken her hip. Mitzi lead us in prayer. II. Minutes The minutes were reviewed, gently amended and accepted by acclamation. III. Reports A. Mitzi Mitzi displayed the new Myrtle wood chalice and tray. Mitzi is encouraged by the use of colorful altar cloths. Sue Nilson has volunteered to sew a few more. Mitzi encouraged the use of appropriate sculpture in place of flowers. Mitzi is preparing plans for home communion. She is preparing a list of possible participants, starting with “the pumpkin list”. B. Flowers- Robin has everything arranged until January. She will use gourds for Thanksgiving. Solicitation for money for poinsettias will begin the Sunday after Thanksgiving. C. New people- Celia reported that she wrote eight notes this month. Two were to families with children. . D. Sybil reported that she is in touch with Sally. They do two months at a time. Celia reported that although she signed for November 11, she was omitted. D. Susan needs a Coffee Hour volunteer for November 25. E. Rick reported that the readers are doing well. He is recruiting younger people. Rick reported that the Crop Walk went well. Mitzi added that it was well organized. There were 127 walkers. The 23 from our church brought in a substantial sum. $5,000 was raised. . F. Youth- The Youth group will have a nature walk at the MacGregors’. G. Rev. Ken reported that the Let it Shine Ceremony will be at 6:30 on Saturday night. There will be an ice cream social followed by the lighting ceremony. Sunday will be All Saints Day. 6:30 AM services start this week on November 8 and will be held each week with the exception of Thanksgiving Day. Ken wants five ushers on November 11. Celia was reenlisted. Set clocks back this weekend. No children will in worship during Advent. They will be rehearsing for their pageant. H. Old Business There was no Old Business. I. New Business a. Ken reiterated that this Sunday will be All Saints Day and Communion Sunday. There was a lively discussion about how the photos can be displayed and how communion is to be orchestrated. b. The 6:30 AM Thursday services will begin on November 8. c. There will be no 8AM service on Stewardship Sunday, November 11. d. An interfaith Service of Thanksgiving will beheld here at 5:00 PM on November 18. There will be no coffee hour after the inter-faith service. Ushers are to be here by 3:30 PM e. During December, children are report directly to Sunday School. f. Communion will be passed in trays in December. g. December 9 will be a promo for Silver Lake. h. House and Grounds will serve breakfast before church on December 9. i. On December 16, the children will present their pageant during the worship service. j. December 23 – A string ensemble will embellish the worship service. k. Christmas eve there will a service for young families at 5:30 PM and a 9:00 PM candle light service. l.
