| OLD BUSINESS: The Committee decided to change its monthly meeting time to Sundays, immediately following Worship. The committee will meet on the Sunday before the monthly Council meeting. It is hoped that this change will make it easier for members to attend. STAFF REPORTS Barry reported that the senior choir has welcomed two new members. The congregational Hymn Sings will be conducted twice this year: once in the Winter and again in the Spring. Shari reported that all three youth choirs will sing in worship on October 14, the Junior Choir will sing on November 18 and December 2, and the combined youth choirs will present a musical Christmas program in worship on December 16. There will be no senior choir that day. Shari also reported that Marion Messek has generously donated Christmas sheet music and CDs to the youth choirs. Marsha will speak with Ken regarding presenting a child-friendly organ introduction during a children’s sermon. She would also be willing to offer to give organ demonstrations to small groups of interested children and adults. Cheryl was not in attendance, but sent along a report that both handbell choirs have welcomed new members, and are looking forward to playing in worship in October and November. NEW BUSINESS Members: Deb will contact John Henderson to inquire whether he would like to remain on the committee or “retire.” Budget: The committee determined the need for separate line items in the budget for Senior Choir Music Supplies and for Youth Choir Music Supplies. The committee is requesting clarification of some of the expenses listed on the most recent General Ledger report (August 2007). Deb will contact Paula Merrick with specific questions. The committee prepared a budget for the coming year. NEXT MEETING: Sunday, November 11, 2007 immediately following worship. |
