| New members of the committee, Mary Lewis and Patti Sparaco, were welcomed. Minutes of the last meeting were reviewed and accepted. Ken and Jane provided an update on the Sunday School program. The current rotation is focused on the Beatitudes. The kids and teachers are happy with the new format. “Shepherds” (teachers who stay with a class) are very helpful. It is hoped that the children will bring friends to Sunday School. The units are movies, story telling, games, and cooking. The next rotation will be “Out of Egypt”. October 7th will be a combined Sunday School class where pumpkins will be decorated for distribution to some of our members and friends. We discussed the possibility of purchasing rotation lessons from “Power Express” for $115 per unit. Committee members are asked to review the website www.powerxpress.com (or get information from Ken) so that we can discuss and choose other units for our class rotations. We need 5 units to fill the time from January to June. Other future Sunday School happenings: Veterans Day – (3 day weekend) – Combined Sunday School class. Thanksgiving Sunday – program by Ken. December 16th – youth musical presentation. December 23rd – Greens to Go (evergreen arrangements). We need 2 more teachers for the next Sunday School rotation – all are welcome to join our exciting new program! Teachers need not be parents of current students – CE is an equal opportunity employer! Team teaching positions are available. This is an excellent opportunity for adults to learn scripture in a fun way. Many thanks to Doris Ross for cleaning and organizing the supply closet! The CE 2008 budget was discussed and recommendations were made for Council. CE will meet next at 7pm on Tuesday November 13th. The December meeting will be on December 5th at 7pm.
