| Minutes from June 6, 2007 were accepted. Rotation Model Teaching: It was decided that we would purchase some of the "year 3" curriculum of PowerXpress. There are six rotations of interest that were suggested by Ken: Bible Teachings, Out of Egypt, Into the Promised Land, Calling the Disciples, The Lord's Supper (Lent) and Three Women O Faith. Each subject would be taught for four weeks in four different ways in four separate classrooms. In one classroom the children will be doing arts and crafts, Another cooking. The third, a story will be told, and the fourth an age appropriate movie will be shown. Each week the children rotate to a new classroom that has been transformed according to the subject and medium in which it will be taught, escorted by a "shepherd," The children will be taught the same subject matter but in a different forms, rotating to a different classroom each week. Finding teachers and shepherds in still in the works. Jane Haeni will be making some calls to various church members to find out who is interested. The cost of the new Rotation Curriculum is $115.00 per subject matter. Since we have decided on six to carry us through the year, the total will be $690.00. We currently have $1500.00 left in the CE Budget. Ken has done considerable research on the Rotation Curriculum and given further study of the rotation model many professionals in surrounding and nearby UCC Churches have suggested it. We are in strong agreement with this and it was decided that there is no need to write our own curriculum and we are supporting Ken. Getting the word out: August "Passages" will have a article about the changes in our Church School Curriculum. It will be titled "Bible Blast, The Heart and Soul of the Bible" and list the six subject matters and how they will be taught. Has to appeal to children and get them excited about the up incoming church year. Also in this months "Passages" will be the blue registration card and a mention about Rally Day. Rally Day will be held on September 9th. Ken will be calling Cathi Lepore, Wendy Arnold, Jennifer Rosenberg, and Duffy Grace to organized food and games. Cradle Roll: Ken is looking into Bible dictionaries to give to the children as they reach various age mile stones. More emphasis will be placed on Cradle Roll in the future.
