The meeting began with an opening prayer. 2007 Stewardship Campaign: Theme: “Expand the Circle” Guest Speaker: Davida Crabtree October 14th Kick-off October 15th Letters will be sent November 11th Stewardship Sunday: Davida Crabtree, Guest Speaker November 18th Campaign Luncheon at 12:00 (set-up on November 17th) A brief discussion regarding the luncheon options ensued. Possibilities are: • Quiche, salad and dessert • Chili, cornbread and dessert • Soup, salad and dessert We have plenty of time to finalize these details. Annual Financial Budget At the April 18th Church Council Meeting, the topic of transferring the responsibility of preparing the annual financial budget to the Trustees was discussed. All agreed to this change, however, it will require a change to the By-Laws. Therefore, the Stewardship Committee will prepare the 2008 budget. The Trustees will take over for the 2009 budget. Matt Winkler handed out a copy of the First Congregational Church of Old Lyme 2007 Visitation and Pledge Campaign for our review. There may be some ideas that we would like to pursue.
