| The meeting began with an opening prayer; followed by a warm welcome to the new members: Paula, Emily and Matt. Dud gave a brief overview of the responsibilities of the Chairman and Secretary. He asked for volunteers to assume these positions. Since most of the members are new, it was recommended that Dud continue as Chairman for 2007 with the expectation that someone else would be named for 2008. Denise volunteered to be the Secretary. Dud outlined the responsibilities of the Stewardship Committee per the Bylaws (including, but not limited to): • Prepare the plan for the Pledge Campaign • Develop a theme • Select an inspirational speaker • Plan the calendar of events • Campaign kick-off in November • Organize the campaign luncheon • Prepare financial budget The year-to-date pledge results as of 2/5/07: $210,643 with 18 pledges outstanding. Ideas for the 2007/2008 campaign were discussed. The committee members will give this further thought and refer to the UCC Synod web site for new ideas on how to run a successful pledge campaign. It was suggested that Dud prepare a “Calendar of Events” so the committee has visibility to the timing of Stewardship events/activities.
