| CROP WALK 2006- Thanks to all for the hard work which made the walk a big success. Totals to this date: FCC in Essex : $1657.00 Chester : $960.00 Deep River : $557.00 First Baptist : $538.00 Old Saybrook UCC : $235.00 St. Paul Lutheran : $145.00 Walk-ons : $122.20 TOTAL $4168.20 Mark, Polly and Jane will write a short description of what they did so that we can create a very specific notebook for next years walk. Neighbors In Need Sunday- Nov. 12 This annual offering supports the UCC Justice Advocacy and the Council for American Indian Ministry. Articles will publicize this offering. Last we received $1057.00. Gateway Luncheon- Dec. 4- Polly Polly has everything under control. The youth will leave school early to help out. Thanksgiving Sunday- Nov. 19. We will collect donations of food, money and gift cards for turkeys. Jean will call the Town Hall to see what the need is this year. Extra food will go to the Food Pantry. Christmas Project Jean Davies will contact Covenant to Care and will work with us on the Christmas Project. We will have lists of needs ready for distribution on Dec. 3rd and ask for items to be returned by Dec. 17th. We will find out how we re-establish our covenant. Delcie will act as liaison. There was discussion on alternate holiday presents through Church World Service. It was decided this is too big a project for this year but people can check the web site. Habitat for Humanity- George Two houses were donated by Wesleyan University last year and were renovated. At present, there is no house being built or renovated. Land has been acquired. The primary need at this point is donations of money. Adult Travel & Service / Youth Experiences in Travel & Service-Delcie There seems to be interest in continuing the YSOP trip to NYC in the spring. We will check on potential dates. The other primary opportunity this year will be attending different events at General Synod in June 2007. We look forward to investigating longer trips for both youth and adults next year.
