| Plans Developed: 1. Reach out to newcomers: a. Send invitations b. Publicize church activities, using pictures where possible c. Invite others to attend special events 2. Identify and minister to those in need in our congregation: a. Take a survey of needs and desires of the congregation and get as many e-mail addresses as possible to make contacting them easier b. Work with the new Associate Minister to identify and care for those in need or those who have drifted away. Accomplishments: 1. Mellicent created an invitation (sample to be passed out at Council meeting) which can be sent to all newcomers to Essex and surrounding communities. 2. Jane researched sources of lists and ways of reaching new arrivals such as tying in with mailings planned by the Library. The direct approach was chosen – getting the list from Essex Events. 3. Wini worked on acquiring and updating membership lists and is working with Marian Messek on ways to identify those in need of calls and help. 4. Mary Ann took on the job of “advertising”, getting out articles about the services we held at the park and by the river and working up lists potential publicity outlets. 5. Dud developed a survey that will appear in Passages and be available during worship services. (sample to be passed out at Council meeting) 6. Judy Kells recommended that we acquire a Canon PowerShot A540 digital camera for with 6.0 mega pixels and 4x optical zoom, for around $350, for which we would like Council approval.
