| Church School: Starting Date is September 17. At least one more teacher needed for 7/8; otherwise, teaching teams are complete. Teacher Training: Pastor Ken and Jane Haeni will introduce new curriculum to all teachers and substitutes at a meeting on September 16, from 9:00 to 1:00. Opening Day: All teachers and subs will be introduced to the congregation. Cradle Roll hearts will be given to children entering Pre-K/K. (Jennifer will notify parents about this.) Bibles will be presented to incoming 4th graders. Kick-Off Sunday picnic is planned for 3-5 that day at Pettipaug Yacht Club. In addition to plans already made for providing food, committee members offered to bring finger-food desserts. May Breakfast Basket: Jen and Dot will coordinate this. Pumpkin Sunday: Children will carve pumpkins, to be distributed to shut-ins and others, on October 29. Youth Group, helped by Wendy Arnold, will gather pumpkins the day before. Committee opening: Don Male has resigned from Christian Ed, so we will need to find a new member. His help has been greatly appreciated. Pastor Ken’s report: There will be only one service, at 10:00 a.m. on September 10, to commemorate 9/11. Material for Passages should be submitted by the day after Council.
